Our backgrounds, whether form Mexico, China, or elsewhere, share a common thread of families who have come to the US in order to seek a better life. These stories aren't only unique to us, they are shown in the experiences of countless immigrants who contribute to American society. Damian's (IL), one of the founders, grandparents migrated from Mexico as teenages, working hard in factories and fields to create a new life. Erin (NY), the other founder, parents left China, sacrificing everything for a brighter future. These personal stories reflect the determination of immigrants all over the world. When looking at the huge number of excess migrants at the southern border, it should compel us to fight for a better approach to immigration.
